tiermap (noun); portmanteau describing a novel 3d map consisting of a series
of layers or tiers of geographical areas placed one above another and forming “cliffaces” between the layers.
This “clifface” yields an additional space for the mapmaker to place more icons, points of interests, and
other content containers in their correct location and reduces the age-old mapmaking limitations of
“icon cluttering” and occlusion: from trying to fit too many icons in the same area.
The process of constructing a Tiermap is covered by U.S. patent no. 10,140,757 and others pending.
Partnerships, licensing, and design services are offered.
